Dinner & Dancing
Dinner & dancing with the SEA!
Now I know that we are in the South East and all, but not all of us are THAT close to the SEA. However, as the IDTA South East Area (or SEA) we certainly know how to throw a fabulous evening of fun, dancing, food and top quality entertainment for our members and their students. Just take our Annual Dinner Dance at the Thistle in Heathrow last year held on the 12th May 2018 . This annual event was a another marvellous night of entertainment and dancing. With a world class Latin American demonstration from Richard Still and Morgan Hemphill and some special guests also in attendance, it was a truly fabulous evening. We kicked off the evening with drinks with our IDTA colleagues and friends and of course our distinguished guest The IDTA President Mr. Phil Winston and his lovely partner Chris, who were presented with gifts from Area Chairman Mr. Philip Diment on behalf of the South East Area. Their wedding anniversary happened to land on this years date and so we were very happy to help mark the occasion with them, much to their surprise. IDTA Chief Executive Mrs. Liz Murphy and her partner Julian Barrett were welcomed by our Area Chairman Mr. Philip Diment and his partner Area Secretary, Mrs. Christine Diment. We then all took our seats and dinner was served! As usual it’s three courses followed by coffee and tea did not disappoint!
A surprise Presentation
“On behalf of the IDTA South East Area I would like to present the Exceptional Service Award to one of our members here this evening. This lady has been teaching for over 40 years and runs a very successful school, training many professionals over those years. A Life member and Examiner for the IDTA she has completed the job that we do here on the South East Area Committee for many years along with her mother, both supporting the Area greatly. As well as this, she has helped with the running of the International Conferences at Southport and in London. It gives me great pleasure to invite Liz LeeSellick to accept the IDTA Exceptional Service Award.”
Darren Kelly - Vice Chairman of the IDTA South East Area
It was our great pleasure to present Mrs. Liz LeeSelleck with her Exceptional Service Award from the IDTA. We would like to thank her again on behalf of the whole of the IDTA for her commitment to the Association.
Then the evenings demonstration saw Richard and Morgan dazzling us with their romantic Rumba. Their jovial Jive was a particular highlight and a rousing Paso Doble, filled with passion and drama was the cherry on top! This was a wonderful evening of varied music from our wonderful DJ. A mixture of freestyle disco dancing, social Latin and Ballroom, fun Sequence dances and lots and lots of laughter just MADE the evening. This was a such a great evening of food, frolicking and fabulousness.
